ZANESVILLE, OH – April is Community College Month, and one local college is highlighting the impact it’s making right here at home.

Zane State College is celebrating Community College Month by showcasing the opportunities it provides for students across our region. From affordable tuition to hands-on career training, leaders say community colleges play a key role in helping students succeed close to home.

“It’s really important for the community. What better way to celebrate than to highlight what’s here in Zanesville and show how people come into our doors and embark on a journey to get higher education and really build a community and the surrounding region.” Zane State Interim President, Joseph Keating, said.

But beyond the classroom, Zane State says it’s the relationships that truly set them apart. Students are able to grow in an environment built on support, connection, and strong relationships with faculty who are invested in their success every step of the way.

“I think of Zane State as an institution. A community institution. Where students who come in with bold objectives for their education or challenges that they might have that we can help accommodate or the workforce needs that we develop or the organizational partnerships that we build, or even the elected officials that we engage and support us. All of this really builds this college as a hub of education and growth.” Keating said.

Zane State is also announcing that Lt. Governor Jim Tressel will serve as this year’s commencement speaker, with graduation set for May 14th.
