Artist of the Month

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- May’s Artist of the Month is a new face in the art scene in Zanesville.

Hunter Ryan Farmer is a young inspiring artist who originally joined the artist colony of Zanesville after attending his first art walk as part of a school project. Farmer says he has always had a passion for art but that his family has played a big part.

“I’ve always had a passion for art but I would say my inspiration is my parents and my brothers. Both of my parents where drawers, my mom a painter, my dad a sketch artist and they both dabbed in tattoos and everything. It was neat growing up hearing the sound of the needle and everything like that and it’s just one of the other things that drives me.”

Farmer says being featured as the Artist of the Month is an honor and something he has been working for.

“I’ve been shooting for this for a while now. Ever since high school I’ve wanted my own art show. My dream is to have an art show in a big city, but just to be featured here in the middle of Zanesville, It’s really an honor.”

Farmers art will be featured as part of the monthly art walk this Friday on the 5th floor of the Masonic Temple.
