Macker Tournament Sponsorships Available

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The groundwork for bringing the Gus Macker 3-on-3 basketball tournaments to Zanesville continues in a positive direction.  

Event Chair and Community Organizer Dominique Proctor detailed some of the strides that have developed during the past few weeks. 

“We’ve developed a really sound committee made up of about 12 people,” Proctor said. “The biggest thing that we’ve… the biggest two things that we’ve developed is our sponsorships and our site review. We’re in collaboration with YMCA and OUZ, so we’re all still working around the clock, making sure we have all that figured out.”

A Gus Macker Tournament representative approved the Zane State, OUZ, YMCA property as an acceptable location, which signaled the local committee to begin seeking stronger collaborations with them and other area businesses and nonprofits.

“And as far as sponsorships, we’ve secured over $18,000 dollars in sponsorships. We have sponsorship tiers left. They are running out, which is a good thing. And then also volunteers. I have a volunteer sheet through Google that people can go on the Gus Macker Facebook page and then they can click on that link. And they can choose which category they want to help in and then they’ll send it back to us,” Proctor said.

On Wednesday, April 22nd, the Buffalo Wild Wings on Brandywine Boulevard will be donating 15 percent of your purchase revenues toward the tournament when you mention Gus Macker.
