Z-ville Man Sentenced for Drug Trafficking

The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office says a Zanesville man was sentenced Monday to a total of 21 years in prison for trafficking over half a kilo of cocaine and nearly a kilo of meth. Muskingum County Common Pleas Judge Mark Fleegle handed the sentence to 42-year-old Jonathan Q. Smith. Prosecutor John Litle says Smith operated his narcotics trafficking operation out of “High Energy Prints”, a sign company on Putnam Avenue, as well as his home on Wheeling Avenue. Hitle says the Zanesville-Muskingum Count Drug Unit seized the drugs along with all the assets of the company during a raid in November. Smith was on federal probation at the time of his crimes.
