Spring Brunch Fundraiser

Salvation Army

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary will be holding their annual Spring Brunch Fundraiser on Thursday, May 14th, inside the Salvation Army gymnasium on Putnam Avenue.

Auxiliary Publicity Chair Sue Bell explained how the fundraiser supports the annual Coats for Kids drive in the fall in addition to the Angel Tree and Christmas Basket programs during the holidays.

“We’re going to start at 10 o’clock with a preview of silent auction and bake sale goods,” Bell said. “Our merchants in this area are so generous. They’ve given us things for the silent auction and that will be through check, cash and this year we’re using Venmo also. The part of the bake sale is, you’ll walk up to a table, if you see a plate of brownies you like, you’ll pay the price and take the brownies to your table. At 11 we’ll serve the brunch and it will be a brunch omelet and sandwiches and things.”

Tickets are $20 dollars and must be reserved by Monday, May 4th. Attendees are encouraged to wear red, white and blue in honor of America 250.

“At 12 then we’ll have the program,” Bell said. “It will be Stacy Russell, who is a vocal coach and singer in our area. And we’ve asked Russell to do some patriotic music along with some audience participation. So that should be lots of fun. And Mother’s Day is the Sunday before that. So that would be a really nice present: get your mother a card and an invitation to lunch.”

803 coats were distributed to area children last fall. For more information or to reserve your seating, you can call (740) 607-6175.
