Local Organization makes plans for new Playground

Fieldhouse

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- One local non-profit organization is hoping to offer the community a fun opportunity in the near future.

The Fieldhouse Foundation met with County Commissioners this Thursday afternoon to discuss plans on funding several community structures in the newly purchased field across from the Fieldhouse. Co-Owner, Harriet Amicone, explains the foundation wants to build a playground that all children can enjoy.

“Our goal is to have an inclusive playground so that people with physical disabilities can play with those that are able-bodied. We do a lot thanks to United Way with our children but there are a lot of people out there that have disabilities that we don’t serve. so this will be an opportunity for all children to enjoy play.”

Amicone also hopes to add a family friendly way to cool off in the summer heat.

“Ultimately we have a big dream and that is to bring a splash pad and ultimately an ice pad, they create a product now that does both and so we would love to see something like that.”

Amicone notes through the Fieldhouse Foundation and local support both structures would be free and open to the public.
