MCLS Offers ‘Ask a Math Professor’ Program for Students

ZANESVILLE, OH – For some students, math can be a complicated subject.
The Muskingum County Library System is getting ready to host “Ask a Math Professor” Program at their Duncan Falls/Philo Branch Library on Thursday, May 7th, from 3 to 4 PM.
Sean Fennell, the Marketing and Community Relations Director with the MCLS, says they’ve partnered up with a Professor from Zane State College to help struggling students before school is out.
“They’re working with a Zane State Professor to come in and provide more access to higher level math concepts but also understanding and helping students with their math.” Fennell said. “So it’s really intended for middle school, high school, and college aged students who are maybe just interested in talking with a math professor to either get some help on their math or to understand high level concepts.”
Fennell added that even though the ribbon has been cut and the John McIntire Library is back, it’s great to be able to bring programs to their Branch Locations.
He also says if you’ve been struggling with math, you’re not alone.
“We’re able to bring in an expert and really help our community access maybe a subject that could be a little bit daunting to some people.” Fennell said. “For me, I know sometimes math was not my strongest subject so having an opportunity like this would’ve been something really wonderful for me as a child. I can see having this program to be a great opportunity for the children in our area.”
Registration is required for Ask A Math Professor and you can do so by heading to the Library’s website.
