Animal Shelter Society Blooms with “Purr-ennials of Love” Adoption Event

Purrenials Of Love Adoption Special

ZANESVILLE, OH – April showers typically bring out May flowers, but at the Animal Shelter Society their garden is in full bloom with some beautiful felines.

From now until the end of the month during the PURR-ennials of Love Adoption Event, all kittens 6 months and under have an adoption fee of $50 while cats 6 months and older are available for $25.

April Gibson, the Executive Director of the Shelter, says those adoption fees go towards spaying and neutering, vaccines, and microchips; making sure your new furry friend is set for their forever home.

“We see a lot on social media of posts saying ‘we have free kittens’, well we’re going to continue to have kittens, that’s why we’ve done 63 surgeries this week of spaying and neutering.” Gibson said. “So please adopt, take care of the rescue cats, and then let us take care of the ones that are on the streets.”

Gibson also wanted to remind the community that they will be closed on Saturday, May 9th, for Feral Felines at the Tiny Tap Tavern.

There are still some reservations available, but they have limited the space from 80-85 people down to around 50.

“It takes a lot to put that event on, we still have reservations there at the Tiny Tap Tavern on Ridge Road.” Gibson said. “It’s only 10 to 1PM, remember that, we still have reservations. With a paid daughters reservation, mom gets in at no charge. Everybody gets a tiara and it’s just a really good time.”
