Single vehicle crash on state route 208 involving an Adamsville fire truck update

Madison Township- On May 7, 2026, at approximately 8:29 AM on SR 208 a single‑vehicle crash occurred. James Lashbrook, 76, of Adamsville, was operating a 2009 International fire truck westbound on SR 208. Mr. Lashbrook was responding to a structure fire at the time of the crash. The vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, overturned, then traveled off the left side of the roadway striking a tree. Injuries were reported as serious on scene.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.

Assisting on scene were Adamsville Fire Department, Falls Township Fire Department, Zanesville Fire Department, Genesis Community Ambulance Service, Dresden Fire Department, Muskingum County EMA, Ohio Department of Transportation, MedFlight, and Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office.
