ZANESVILLE, OH – The Final Performance presented by the Thursday Music Club for their 116th Season is happening next week.

The Zanesville Civic Chorus Chamber Singers will be performing a variety of songs from light hearted hits to emotional pieces and everything in between.

Ann Lillie Briggs, the Director of the Chorus, says they will also feature Matt Coombs on the string bass for a few of the selections.

“He plays in the Messiah Orchestra every year and he’s our most recent member, he recently moved to the Zanesville Area, so he’s going to be playing a couple of movements from a Corelli Sonata.” Briggs said. “Then we’ll use him in one of the choir pieces because he’s going to be there, why not use him to accompany a choir piece!”

The Spring Concert will take place at 7:30 on Tuesday May 12th at 7:30PM at Central Trinity United Methodist Church.

If you forgot to get mom a gift for Mother’s day and she’s a fan of music, there will also be a performance at the Church on Sunday.

“On Mother’s Day at 2 o’clock at Central Trinity Church, my students, my private students, are doing a recital!” Jim McLaughlin, the Assistant Director, said. “There will be free cookies, homemade cookies also, but we’ll have piano, organ, and voice students performing.”

Both performances are free and open to the public. Central Trinity United Methodist Church is located at 62 South 7th Street.
