ZANESVILLE, OH – The Force will be very strong next weekend at the Zanesville Museum of Art.

The Museum is bringing back the beloved Star Wars Family Day on Sunday, May 17th from 1 to 4 PM for the third year in a row.

Misty Johnson, the Education Coordinator at the Museum, says members of the 501st Garrison as well as Legion Rebels Costuming Clubs will be available for photos with the whole family.

“We’re going to have all kinds of activities throughout the day.” Johnson said. “We’re going to have a costume contest again. We saw some really impressive ones last year, so we’d like to see everyone come out for that. We’ll have a scavenger hunt, trivia games, and of course art activities because we are an Art Museum.”

Johnson says it’s amazing to see where this event began and where they are now in year three.

She says she’s a Star Wars fan herself and it brings her joy to see the younger generation discover the galaxy and all of its characters.

“It’s just really exciting, getting to do something like this, as a part of my job.” Johnson said. “But yeah, just being able to celebrate the Star Wars Universe but also the creativity that it inspires.”

The Zanesville Museum of Art is located at 620 Military Rd. in Zanesville.
