Tim Callahan to lead the American Red Cross East Central Ohio Chapter

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Tim Callahan will be the new Executive Director of the East Central Ohio Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Effective May 23, Callahan will take over the role from Rod Cook who is retiring after 23 years with the non-profit organization. Callahan says he looks forward to working with a community that he has known his entire lifetime.
“I grew up in Guernsey County, lived in Zanesville, live outside of Zanesville, Dresden/Frazeysburg area…,” Callahan said. “I’m very familiar with all of the counties and so on. So, it’s intreging to me to work with all the partners and the volunteers that poor so much into, you know, volunteering for the Red Cross and it’s really quite rewarding to work with them.”
Callahan is currently the Regional Senior Community Disaster Program Manager for Central and Southern Ohio. During his time in that roll, he says Cook taught him important lessons that he will take into his new position.
“I think Rod really instilled in me, is like the partnerships and the relationships and you know we’re just working with the volunteers and letting the volunteers do what they signed up to do. They raised their hand to help, let them help, you know? And, I just kind of guide and give them the resources and things that they need to make that happen,” Callahan said.
The American Red Cross East Central Ohio Chapter serves 13 counties in the region, including Muskingum, Perry, Licking, Noble, and Guernsey Counties.
