Kidzville rebuild begins

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The reconstruction of Kidzville is officially underway.
The first stage was to get the poles set for the structure and begin the prefabrication of the playground pieces. A project that has been weeks in the making.
“Everything that we have worked so hard for in last seven weeks, this is the result of it. This is the community coming out here to make this playground for the kids, for the community,” said Doug Hobson, Assistant Fire Chief and Kidzville volunteer.
A total of 160 volunteers showed up for the first shift of the rebuild, with community members such as teachers, students and groups from area businesses.
“This is what we do in Muskingum County, we come together when there [are] projects, we help whether it’s this, a cake auction, festival of trees auction something going on downtown or throughout the county, what we do well here is we come together and make these projects happen,” said Dana Matz, Chamber of Commerce president and Kidzville volunteer.
Hobson said they hope to have the park completed by Sunday, June 4th.
