Escapee in Nelsonville Captured

A man who escaped from the Nelsonville SEPTA Correctional Facility is back in custody.

Nelsonville Police with assistance from the State Highway Patrol apprehended Richard Paul Rush III around 8:30 Thursday night.

Authorities said they received a tip that Rush was located at a vacant home 204 Madison Street in Nelsonville.

Rush was treated at the scene for minor injuries he sustained during his escape. He and his girlfriend, Samantha Milliken, of Nelsonville, who was with Rush were placed in custody and transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail in Nelsonville.

Milliken is being charged with obstruction of justice and aiding and abetting a wanted fugitive.
