United Way of MPM celebrates annual campaign

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The United Way of Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan Counties celebrated the results of their annual campaign Friday morning.
Community volunteers put in more than 360 hours this year to raise money for the United Way. Also, an additional 300 hours were invested into where the resources would go.
Meg Deedrick, the Executive Director of United Way MPM, said they raised more than $805,000.
“That money has already started to be distributed, and what we are doing is investing in programs in the area of health, education and financial stability to achieve the 12 goals we have for the community,” said Deedrick.
This money will make an impact in the region for the next 12 months in 25 area programs.
Deedrick added that additional initiatives and partnerships created for this year, will help improve the quality of life in the community.
We are sponsoring additional initiatives like in partnership with the Zanesville Farmer’s Market to provide snap match dollars so that people who have supplemental nutrition assistance or food stamps can purchase fresh affordable produce, said Deedrick.
