Sinkhole to blame for floor collapse in Crooksville

CROOKSVILLE, Ohio – A floor collapse at a building in Crooksville Friday morning, has caused for the entire building to be demolished.

Fred Redfern, the Mayor of Crooksville, said the collapse happened shortly after 11:30 a.m. on Main Street, due to a sinkhole.
The first floor of a two-story apartment collapsed into the basement. No one was inside of the apartment at the time, but one man was inside of an adjacent apartment. He did get out safely.
The house has been deemed unsafe to enter, and will be demolished Friday.
Mayor Redfern said the railroad and main road in Crooksville have been closed for safety precautuions as they demolish.
No injuries were reported.
