Letta “Jayne” Stephens, 76 of Zanesville, passed away

peacefully on Sunday, June 18, 2017 after bravely battling

cancer.

Jayne was born in Alexandria, Ohio on May 2, 1941. She was

the daughter of the late Hiram and Phyllis Mowrey. Jayne was

a faithful member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in

Zanesville, cherished her grandchildren and was known as a

social person who enjoyed meeting people. She loved nature

and animals, especially her dogs, Gidget and Lola. Jayne was

also gifted in crocheting and an avid reader.

Jayne is survived by her husband Thomas Stephens, whom she

married January 28, 1960; her children Beth Greenlee, Patrick

(Brenda) Stephens, Mike (Lori) Stephens; her grandchildren

Ian Greenlee, Michael (Emily) Stephens, Trenton Stephens and Bailey Stephens; her siblings Evelyn Stephens, Sue Schoedel and Nancy Ginn.

In addition to her parents, Jayne is preceded in death by her

siblings, Lois, Don, Gene and Irene.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am Saturday, June

24, 2017 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 144 North Fifth Street,

Zanesville with Fr. Peter Fagen O.P. as celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
