Former Falls Township FD Employee Facing 231 Charges

A Muskingum County woman has been indicted by a Grand Jury on 231 counts including theft when she worked at the Falls Township Fire Department.

Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz says Kristie Howard was arrested Thursday and is charged with one count of theft, between $150,000-$750,000, two counts of money laundering, both felonies of the 3rd degree, 226 counts of forgery, 5th degree felonies, one count of telecommunications fraud, a 2nd degree felony and one count of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, a 1st degree felony.

Sheriff Matt Lutz says Howard was in charge of billing and records at the fire department. The investigation of Howard started in March of 2016.  Howard was also an employee of the Muskingum County Emergency Agency at the same time.   Howard’s bond is set at $250,000.  She is scheduled in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court on June 28th.
