Muskingum County K-9 Adoption Center Dog of the Week; Meet Sandwich

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – This week’s dog of the week is hungry for a new home and family and would go great with a side of fries.
Meet Sandwich! He’s a one-year-old Wire Haired Terrier mix who is neutered and ready to find his new home. Doug McQuaid is a volunteer at the Muskingum County Sheriff’s K-9 Adoption Center, and he shares what makes Sandwich such a good boy.
“Sandwich is a younger guy who has a lot of energy. So it would be someone would need to work with him a little bit. He’s 1 year old,” McQuaid said. “Does very well on a leash, enjoys squeaky toys, seems to get along well with other dogs, is a hit here with everybody at the AC (Adoption Center). So, you know, just as you can tell, very affectionate, easy-going. Just someone that wants to spend a little bit of time and effort, he could just be a great dog for your family with people of all ages, especially probably kids.”
McQuaid wanted to take a moment to highlight some ongoing needs that the Adoption Center may be able to help with, including food, microchipping, and reclaiming your lost dog.
“Here lately, we just got in a lot of dogs, strays. If you’ve lost your pet, please give us a call or stop by. We would love to return your pet to your family. It’s very important to us,” McQuaid said. “Also too, we have microchips in stock now for $25 and we still have plenty of food to give. So if that’s something you need, we don’t want any dog being left behind. Stop by, we’ll gladly get you what you need and we want your dog to be able to get fixed up.”
