MALTA, Ohio- A local teen is inspiring to become a veterinarian after meeting someone very special to him.

At the age of nine, Darrian Hill of Malta, Ohio met the famous zookeeper, Jack Hanna. Now, seven years later after meeting with Hanna again his love for animals continues.

“I always love the zoo. I would go delete all the pictures off my phone’s camera roll and I would use all of it. I would end up having to delete apps and stuff because I just love taking pictures of the animals.”

Hill is a Junior at Morgan High School and remains busy by attending Zane State College through the College Credit Plus Program and working at the Rascal Animal Hospital Mobile Spay and Neuter Clinic.

“I worked all thirteen hour days or more this week and it didn’t feel like that at all. I always get off the truck wherever we are, do whatever we are doing and by the time it feels like I just getting sat down it’s like we are leaving again and it’s 6 o’clock at night.”

Hill said even though he works long days, he loves what he does and finds it very rewarding. Hill plans on attending Ohio State University to study Veterinarian Science.
