Animal Shelter Society Pet of the Week: Meet Rocky!

ZANESVILLE, OH – This Week’s Animal Shelter Society Pet of the Week isn’t much of a boxer, more of a cuddler.

Meet Rocky! He’s a two-year-old Pomeranian-chihuahua mix who’s neutered, up to date on his vaccines, and is looking for his second chance.

April Gibson, the Executive Director of the Shelter, says Rocky as well has his dad came to them as an owner surrenders, but he’s not letting that stop him from finding his forever family.

“He loves kids, he’s good around kids, he loves people, he doesn’t mind other dogs.” Gibson said. “He likes for them to be a little bit smaller of course because of his size. But he is just a great little pup, he likes to go for walks, he doesn’t mind the car, and he has his own little pool in the back with the rest of the dogs.”

Gibson also wanted to remind those that haven’t gotten them yet, there are only a few more reservations for the Final Feral Felines of the Season at the Tiny Tap Tavern and this time they’re taking it back to the 80’s on Saturday June 27th.

The Animal Shelter Society is also getting ready for their 8th Annual Putt 4 Paws Golf Outing at Green Valley Golf course in July.

“It’s going to be July 18th at Green Valley, Steve Galloway is very accommodating for us, we’re so thankful for Steve.” Gibson said. “So you can stop in, you get a team together, I always have a goal of having 60 hole sponsors, they’re right there as you come in, and they’re only a $100 and that’s what helps us take care of animals like Rocky and when his dad came in. They weren’t vetted, they weren’t neutered and it takes a lot. It takes a lot to care for them and for the staff.”

If you are interested in adopting Rocky, grabbing reservations for Feral Felines, or getting a team together for Putt 4 Paws, you can reach out to the Animal Shelter Society.
