Genesis receives Design Award by National Magazine

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Genesis was recognized by a National Magazine for the design of their new Cancer Care Center.

Contract Magazine awarded the center with an honorable mention for the Healthcare Environment Award. The magazine focused on the emphasis on patient centered care something Medical Director, Dr. Scott Wegner, said they focused on for more than two years while building the center.

“It was really more than a two-year process. We met with consultants we had very significant involvement Dr. Sarap whose name is one of the center and we built it from the patient outward so we designed what we thought the ideal care experience would be and built the building around that.”

While Dr. Wegner is proud of the patient centered care, he also stressed the importance of the staff.

“Number one what makes us special is the people who work here. They are the most awesome dedicated group of people who I have ever worked with my entire career. Second I would think our facility is really built to take care of patients, I mean there are so many millions of details that we were thought about to make this a really great care experience and I am really proud we have accomplished that.”

Dr. Wegner wanted to thank Dr.Nick and Nancy Sarap for their generous donation that made the Genesis Cancer Care Center possible.
