Lorena Sternwheeler Civil War Reenactment & Encampment

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The public is invited to the Lorena Sternwheeler Civil War Reenactment and Encampment to watch America’s history in action.
The Lorena Sternwheeler is sold out on the Civil War Reenactment-Night Fire Twilight Cruise and the Civil War Reenactment on the Mighty Muskingum cruises throughout July 28, 2017 and 29, 2017. Zanesville-Muskingum Chamber of Commerce Vice President Kelly Ashby said even though tickets are sold out people can still enjoy the reenactment and encampments.
“We do invite the public to both Zane’s Landing Park or Riverside Park,” Ashby said. “Zane’s Landing if they would like to visit the surgeons tent and the Riverside Park to be a part of the encampment. Also feel free to hang out, out there and watch the [Lorena Sternwheeler] cruises up.”
Ashby would like to remind the community that cannons and guns will be fired off. So there will be loud explosive sounds coming from the Muskingum River between Zane’s Landing and Riverside Park. Dog owners should be cautious as well.
“The encampment is near the dog park and so we certainly are encouraging pet owners and dog owners that utilize that park to know that the encampment is taking place and that the booms and the firing will be happening on Saturday,” said Ashby.
