ZANESVILLE,  Ohio – It’s an exciting summer for Zanesville Parks. Tannehill received a new pickle-ball court, Kidzville was reconstructed at Riverside Park, and now Dogzville has water.

Since the dog park was opened running water has been unavailable, but as of six weeks ago the City of Zanesville has made running water possible. Dogzville Committee President Mike Alfman said there was already a water pipe line outside the dog park and the city just extended it in and added a spigot.

“They brought the water line into us, so that we now have water available for the dogs and we really needed it for the summer time,” Alfman said. “We also needed it because we planted 20 trees here about three months ago. They’re doing quite well and the water was really needed. So we really appreciated the City of Zanesville working with us on that project.”

Dogzville is not quite finished with added necessities to make the park comfortable for dogs and owners. According to Alfman in two weeks eight memorial benches will be brought into the park.

“When we put the concrete down for the benches, we’re going to put concrete pads around the fountains and make a nice fixture,” Alfman said. “Where there will be a bowl fixed for the dog fountain. So that it will be a lot nicer than just having the spigots we have now, but that’s just temporary.”

Alfman wants to invite everyone who is interested in the dog park to check out their Facebook page Riverside Dogzville on upcoming events and share your Dogzville experiences.
