Kroger and Christ’s Table partner for Kroger Day at Muskingum County Fair
ZANESVILLE, Ohio- An area business and organization are partnering to help ease the cost of enjoying the Muskingum County Fair.
Kroger and Christ’s Table are working together next Wednesday, August 16th during the Muskingum County Fair to make admission as easy as two Kroger cans of vegetables from seven in the morning to one in the afternoon as part of Kroger Day.
“We have been doing this for over five years now. Our largest pickup we had was over 7,000 cans and last year we had a little under that pertaining to the weather but this year we are hoping to get at least 6,000 so we would love everybody to come help and push us out for this.” said Community Service Leader for Kroger, Marti King.
Those thousands of cans go directly to Christ’s Table and Executive Director, Keely Warden, explained they are crucial every year.
“We have served about 30,000 meals since the children have been out of school so our cupboards are bare, literally the shelves are bare, so this Kroger Day at the fair that we do in partnership with Kroger each year is so important for us.”
The cans received during Kroger Day are enough to supply Christ’s Table up to Thanksgiving. Warden and King hope the partnership will last for years to come.
