Inaugural State of the County Luncheon hosted by the ZMC Chamber
ZANESVILLE, OH – The Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with North Valley Bank, hosted the Inaugural State of the County Luncheon on Wednesday.
The luncheon served as a time for chamber members and local leaders to meet and discuss the ongoing improvements here in Muskingum County.
Dana Matz, the Chamber of Commerce President, says there’s many new developments happening right before our eyes but some are happening behind the scenes.
“Some things that are cooking, if you will, so it’s a great opportunity to inform.” Matz said. “It’s also our role as the Chamber to be a convener, to bring the groups together and speak about what’s going on in our county.”
Attendees got the chance to hear from Muskingum County Port Authority Executive Director Eric Reed, Mayor Don Mason, MCCF Chief Executive Officer Brian Wagner, and County Commissioner Melissa Bell.
Commissioner Bell says the topics she covered at the luncheon included updates on the new Jail, the demolition of the former Holiday Inn, as well as some updates on some sewer and water projects.
“To be able to highlight those things and talk about all of the grant funding, both from the State and Federal level, that are being brought into the county to help enhance all of these wonderful infrastructure projects for our county.” Bell said.
The luncheon was held at Weatherington Woods and Matz says he hopes to make it an annual event for Chamber members.
