Muskingum County K-9 Adoption Center Dog of the Week; Meet Argo!

ZANESVILLE, OH – This Week’s Dog of the Week is a gentle giant.

Meet Argo! He’s a two-year-old Anatolian shepherd mix who keeps a clean kennel, sits well for treats, and is looking for his forever family.

Doug McQuaid, a Volunteer with the K-9 Adoption Center, says Argo appears to be dog friendly and has one of the most laid back personalities he’s ever seen, but he’s still figuring out his strength.

“Very gentle, sits nicely for treats, a little strong when you first take him out to walk.” McQuaid said. “We prefer dogs with long hair and this size to maybe be in a lot and so naturally when you take them out, you know, they’re anxious to go for their walk. So maybe an older teenager, adult would be better for walking.”

McQuaid also wanted to thank everyone who stopped out last Friday for their microchipping event and making the day a huge success.

He says there are still microchips available for $20 if you missed out on their event.

“We still have about 20 microchips left, the proceeds from those microchips will go to our volunteer Laurie.” McQuaid said. “So if that’s something that you’re interested in, we’re doing cats and dogs. Cats in a carrier, dogs on a leash, contact our staff member and we’ll set up an appointment. We’d love to get you fixed up.”
