ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Foxfire Schools and The Sports Barber partnered to give more than 100 boys haircuts for the new school year.

Foxfire Schools hosted the Boys Back To School Event from 11 to 8 on August 20th and was open for any Muskingum County boy heading back to school in the coming week.

“We had a 105 free haircuts, we have a bounce house, food, and we also have backpacks filled with school supplies for children to send them off. Send them back to school on the right foot, a little positive vibe and energy.” said Superintendent of Foxfire Schools, Todd Whiteman.

Whiteman explained the partnership of Foxfire and The Sports Barber came from a mutual desire to help area students and families in need to start the school year on a positive note.

“Today is about giving back and giving some paying it forward, an opportunity for some kids. Mike DeBolt a friend of mine, a purple heart recipient, a local barber, wanted to do something collaborative to start kids off on the right foot a positive vibe for some kids that may not have the opportunity.”

Whiteman said it was a privilege to host this event and hopes it will continue to grow in coming years so that they may supply more than 500 haircuts to area boys.
