Zanesville Concert Season

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The 79 Season of the Zanesville Concert Association is starting this fall.

The Zanesville Concert Association hosts four concerts at Secrest Auditorium each year. Booking Agent Jim McLaughlin said they provide membership opportunities so people may see all the concerts at a discounted price.

“We sell a season of concerts, we will sell an individual ticket, but our idea’s bringing world-class entertainment to Zanesville at a bargained price,” McLaughlin said. “We have a reciprocal arrangement with Mount Vernon. So we have four concerts and Mount Vernon has six. So that means for $65.00 for an adult you can get 10 concerts for $6.50 a piece.”

This year the Zanesville Concert Association invited Dublin Silver Band, which is by a Zanesville Native, Tim Jameson. Tomáseen Foley’s A Celtic Christmas will sing dance and play music. The Staatskapella Weimar Orchestra of Germany is bringing their world tour to Ohio. McLaughlin says Julliard graduate Cameron Carpenter will end the concert season.

“Cameron is lighting up the world with any good music that fits on the organ and he’s designed this instrument with five keyboards, besides the pedals,” McLaughlin said. “[Carpenter] will fill the entire stage here at Secrest Auditorium with not only speakers, but lights. So that there will be a visual effect to the concert.”
