New Safety Grants for Businesses

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation is offering the Safety Intervention Grant Program.
According to the Ohio B.W.C. the Safety Grants are for Ohio state-funds or public employers who want to purchase equipment to reduce or eliminate injuries and illnesses associated with an operation.
“Working with the Ohio B.W.C. you can go to their website, contact them,” Zanesville – Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce President Dana Matz said. “They offer a 3-to-1 grant match. So for every dollar you put in they put in three dollars. Something to consider to improve the work place safety and reduce your workers compensation costs.”
The reason Ohio B.W.C. is holding this grant is to gather information about the effectiveness of workplace safety interventions. Matz acknowledged how safety can be an everyday issue in the workplace and thought all businesses should know about this opportunity.
“We host the local safety council we’re very excited,” Matz said. “We work monthly with the Ohio B.W.C. So we get to hear about these programs. Not all of the area businesses participate in Safety Council, so they don’t receive our news letters or hear the information at our meetings. So we just want to get this information out there to all businesses in Muskingum County.”
The maximum 3-to-1 match the Ohio B.W.C. will give is 40 thousand dollars. For more information on the Safety Intervention Grant Program click the link provided below.
