Zanesville Fire & Police Dept. prepare for tug of war

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The highly anticipated United Way tug of war is just a day away and both sides are gearing up for the competition
The Zanesville Fire and Police Department will square off with a tug of war competition Thursday at 6 in the evening at the Muskingum Family Y Park Central. While tensions will be high, Assistant Fire Chief Doug Hobson said no matter who wins the ultimate goal is that the proceeds go to a good cause.
“The number one priority for both of our teams is to make sure that the united way is funded. that was from the initial kickoff to get united way as much dollars as we can in their pocket that’s going to stay to our local community. So that’s why we are asking everybody to come out tomorrow. “
Hobson encouraged everyone to come support their favorite team whether it’s the fire or police department.
“You know chip in give that extra dollar give that extra five to ten dollars support your favorite team of course but know that it goes to the great cause of the united way. “
