Mammogram Certificates

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – WHIZ Media Group has teamed up with Coconis Furniture and Genesis HealthCare System for the month of October to help detect breast cancer.

Starting on October 12, 2017 Genesis HealthCare System and Coconis Furniture are making up to 500 mammograms available to customers. President Randy Coconis explained for all furniture and mattress purchases at $799.00 or more, the buyer will receive a mammogram certificate in return.

“We’ll give a certificate for a free mammogram and again the person can use it themselves, they can give it to a friend or loved one, or they can give it back to us and we’ll donate it through [Genesis HealthCare System] to make sure somebody who otherwise couldn’t afford a mammogram will get a free mammogram,” said Coconis.

This idea came to be after donating $50.00 of every mattress sale in October 2016 to the American Cancer Society in the name of the mattress buyer. Coconis shared his idea to localize the funds to fight against breast cancer.

“Last year went fairly well, but I think this here hits home a lot more,” Coconis said. “This is basically for anyone in Muskingum and all of the surrounding counties that can come in, make a purchase, and we’ll give a certificate. Think about the impact you could have of giving someone a mammogram.”

Coconis said this certificate will help the woman of the community who cannot afford a mammogram.

“Imagine 500 free mammograms just in our little part of the world here, could be priceless,” Coconis said. “It’s huge, there could be a lot of people who never would have thought about [getting a mammogram] or would have afforded to go get a mammogram and we make it possible they can go do that.”

The certificates will be handed out through the end of October, certificates will be good for use until the end of this year.
