Terry Higgins

Terry Lee Higgins, 60, Crooksville, passed away unexpectedly on September 9, 2026, at his residence in Crooksville. He was born on March 20, 1966, in Zanesville, Ohio, and was the son of Esther (Nelson) Higgins and the late Earl E. Higgins. Terry is survived by his children, Terry Higgins Jr. and Christy (Jereth Bechstein) Higgins; by his sister, Tammy (Carl) Anders, his niece and nephew, Keshia Anders and Kordell (Javison) Anders, his great niece, Hazel Anders, and his great nephews, Brantley Bickford and Kyvin Anders. At the age of 17, Terry began working at his family’s business, Higgins Lumber Company, as a sales attendant. What started as a young man’s first job became a lifelong connection to the lumber yard and the people who came through its doors. Through the years, he became a familiar and dependable presence there, known for his work ethic, his steady manner, and his commitment to doing the job well. After the challenges brought on by COVID, he retired from the lumber yard in 2020, closing a meaningful chapter of his life with the same quiet dignity with which he lived it. Terry was a man who appreciated the simple comforts of home and the companionship of his beloved cats. He found joy in their presence and took pleasure in caring for them. His passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of those who loved him, but his memory will remain a source of comfort and reflection. No calling hours or services will be held at this time, and cremation will be handled by Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 207 Burley Street, Crooksville.
