Linda Wheeler

Linda Suzan Doverspike Wheeler, 78, of Zanesville, passed away on September 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Linda was born March 12, 1948, the daughter of the late Charles F. Doverspike and Lorna G. Triplett Doverspike. She was a 1966 graduate of Zanesville High School.
On February 11, 1968, Linda married her high school sweetheart, Timothy B. Wheeler. Together, they built a life centered around family, faith, and more than 58 years of marriage.Linda held several jobs throughout her life, including working at Lazarus and as a home health caregiver, but the role she treasured most was caring for her family. She devoted much of her life to being a mother and later helped care for her grandchildren as they grew. She was the matriarch of her family, a constant source of love, support, and encouragement.
Linda was a member of First Christian Church in Zanesville and previously a longtime member of Euclid Avenue United Methodist Church, where she was active in the Women’s Circle, Outreach, and other church committees. She also served as a 4-H advisor. Linda and Tim shared a love of MG cars and were active members of the COMGO Car Club. She especially enjoyed riding with Tim, traveling, and taking trips and cruises with their car club friends, creating many wonderful memories together over the years. Above all, Linda loved her family and took great pride in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was someone they could always depend on, ready to help, care for, encourage, or simply be there when she was needed. The love and traditions she created will continue through the generations that follow her.
In addition to her husband, Timothy B. Wheeler, Linda is survived by her children, Timothy C. Wheeler, John (Theresa) Wheeler, and Christina (Matt) McCandlish; her grandchildren, Joshua (Madelaine) Murphy, Allison (Tyler Hutchinson) Murphy, James McCandlish, Laura (Coltin) Pennell, Tim Wint, and Austin (Shanda) Wheeler; and her great-grandchildren, Kaylynn and Bo Wint, Dallas, Khaleesi, and Ashika Pennell, and Benjamin Murphy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles F. and Lorna G. Doverspike, and her brother, Gene A. Doverspike.
Linda leaves behind a family that is stronger because of the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, caregiver, and friend, but the devotion she showed to her family throughout her life will remain her lasting legacy.
