ZANESVILLE, Ohio – For those who are wanting to look clean-cut and trimmed up, there is a new barbershop downtown.

A ribbon cutting ceremony for the new barbershop, Fade Physician was held today for their grand opening. State licensed barber Antonio Wilborn Jr. opened his own barbershop on October 7, 2017 with one idea in mind.

“I wanted you to be comfortable, be able to come in, be yourself, hang out a little, and watch sports,” Wilborn said. “You know it’s Ohio we all love our sports teams all over, we have all sports logos and every team you like. You know so you can just come in enjoy yourself, let your hair down, and watch the game.”

Wilborn has been in Zanesville for about one year and started at another barbershop so that he could learn the trade of the business.

“From there on you know I kind of got ideas, took them, and transformed them into what I wanted them to be,” Wilborn said. “For me this is a big jump, a big move, and a big leap of faith. I’m just thankful to be here right now, just to be a business owner.”

Wilborn is looking into hiring so he can have a diverse barbershop for the community.

“I want to build and be diverse and right now I am looking for barbers, hair stylists, nail designers, to join the Fade Physician team,” Wilborn said. “So that’s the goal to build it and be diverse so we can reach out to everyone.”

Fade Physician offers steam towel facials, shaves, any type of cut including fades and designs. The new barbershop is located at 16 North 6th Street in Downtown Zanesville and is open Tuesday through Saturday 9:00 A.M. to 6:30 P.M. and by appointment on Mondays.
