Trump Campaign Manager in Federal Custody

(NBC News) Former Trump 2016 campaign manager Paul Manafort is in federal custody.

Manafort and longtime business associate Rick Gates were ordered to surrender Monday morning in connection with the ongoing probe into alleged ties between the Trump campaign and Russia.

The two are the targets of the first indictments handed down by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

The indictment contains 12 counts including conspiracy against the United States, conspiracy to launder money, unregistered agent of a foreign principal, and seven counts of failure to file reports of foreign bank and financial accounts.

The FBI raided Manafort’s home in July.

He’s denied any wrongdoing.
