Artists of the Month

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Zanesville Appalachian Arts Project is featuring artists Crystal Fuller and Cathy White for the month of November.

During First Friday’s Art Walk the community can see Fuller and White’s artwork at Z.A.A.P. Fuller exclaimed this is a good benchmark to show the community what her and White have learned in the last year.

“Well this is kind of new collaboration for us, we just started this summer working together,” Fuller said. “You know I paint primarily rural scenes. [White’s] particularly good at detail, small pieces with extreme detail, and then she does the beading as well.”

Fuller shared that this show focuses on some cabinet drawers they purchased at a Habitat for Humanity ReStore. The drawers became frames to their folk artwork.

“Well you know the way an artist mind works,” Fuller said. “We saw these cool drawers that are reasonably priced that are well made and what can we do with it? It evolved from that, it was Cathy’s idea. She said ‘oh we could put paintings in this.”

Z.A.A.P. is open from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. for First Friday’s Art Walk and every Thursday – Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M.
