Local school teaches how to interview

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- A local school gave kids the opportunity to work on their interview skills.
The Muskingum Valley Human Resource Management Association worked with Foxfire High School and had local businesses come in and talk about interviewing skills. The interviewing skills ranged from what interviewers should wear for an interview to making sure their Facebook page wouldn’t hinder them being hired.
“We’re here to help the students on the do’s and don’ts of and what they should do for interviews. We know that it is a competitive market out there, so we’re trying to help them out. We’re also doing mock interviews,” said Shaye Wensyel-Jones.
The mock interviews give students an opportunity to have one on one training on what they should and shouldn’t say in an interview. This allows students the opportunity to correct what they did wrong so they won’t make those mistakes in an actual job interview.
“I have a panel of people that will speak on behalf of their company or will speak on behalf of their career and talk about how to get hired at their location, expectations,” said Wensyel-Jones.
Some of the companies at Foxfire were also looking to hire students to start working for their company.
