ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Zanesville Museum of Art continues it’s 90th anniversary celebrations with a colorful and bright exhibition.

The exhibition is titles “Tiffany’s Gardens in Glass” and features pieces of art that were carefully brought in from the Neustadt Gallery in New York City. The museum will also have an activity area for people of all ages for stained-glass themed projects and actives. Laine Snyder is the executive director for the Zanesville Museum of Art and tells us more about the exhibition.

“So, Louis Comfort Tiffany was a famous arts and crafts era artist of the last century. And he put together all of these really incredible stained-glass pieces, whether lamps or windows. He was also a creator of favrile art pottery and since Zanesville is the pottery capital of the world, we’re also featuring some of Tiffany’s favrile art pottery,” Snyder said.

Tiffany’s Garden in Glass runs from now until Jan. 9. Snyder says she’s excited to bring this exhibition to Zanesville. These art pieces typically require art fans to travel to the Big Apple to see Tiffany’s art up close.

“We’re really fortunate to work with the Neustadt Gallery in New York City. They are an archive for information for Louis Comfort Tiffany and Tiffany Studios.  It’s been three years in the making, we’ve been working with them for about three years to put this extraordinary exhibition together,” Snyder said. “It’s really been a labor of love between our two organizations and two museums. So, it’s an exciting opportunity for us to really feature something very, very special in Zanesville.”

The Zanesville Museum of Art is located at 620 Military Road with free admission. More information about the museum, including their hours, can be found on their website.
