The 28th Annual Handbell Festival

Deck the halls and sound the alarm, one local Church is already preparing for the holiday season.
This evening, Grace United Methodist Church had a packed house for the highly anticipated 28th annual Hand-bell festival.
“Tonight we have the twenty-eighth annual Zanesville Hand-bell Festival. We have 6 choirs here and they will play some masses pieces together, and then each choir will play 2 pieces on their own. Then we come back at the end and all ring at the sang time again.,” said Handbell Director, Ann Briggs.
Members of all ages filled the stands, but the youngest bell ringer is just 12 years old.
“Every Wednesday we practice, and we’ve practiced since January. I’ve played the same bells for 2 years. We start every January with any new people they want and then we end after this bell festival,” said Bellringer, Mykenzey Ebach.
With twenty-eight successful years in the books, both the Churches represented and the community look forward to next year’s concert!
