Muskingum County K-9 Adoption Center Dog of the Week; Meet Tiny!

ZANESVILLE, OH – This Week’s Dog of the Week isn’t quite ready for her forever home, but she’s getting there thanks to the generosity of the community.
Meet Tiny! She’s a one to two-year-old pup who came to the K-9 Adoption Center as a Humane Case along with a few other dogs who were living in deplorable conditions.
Robin McQuaid, a Volunteer with the Adoption Center, says Tiny had to be taken to a local pet hospital as well as MedVet for life saving blood transfusions, totaling around $2,500 in medical bills.
“All of these things she was suffering with were completely preventable, now why are we sharing this? Her cost between both visits was $2,500.” McQuaid said. “So we’d like to focus today not just on Tiny, but on the Griff Medical Fund.”
The Griff Medical Fund was started by volunteers of the Adoption Center so that pups that are in need of medical treatment get what they need.
In the past the Griff Fund has gone to help Atlas, a pup who injured both of his front legs, Danny and Cynthia who both suffer from chronic ear infections and skin issues, and Corolla who is currently in a foster home recovering from a hematoma on her ear.
McQuaid says there’s also Max who had Lyme disease as well as two broken teeth that needed to be removed, and finally Galaxy, who needed a tail amputation due to someone banding her tail.
She says none of their treatments would have been possible without the generosity of the community contributing to the Griff Fund.
“The Griff Fund is a fund that pays for anything over and above what the K-9 Adoption Center is responsible for, it was also started by the Volunteers, so when those of you in our community that have donated to the Griff Fund and you’re wondering where your money is going or what we’re doing with it.” McQuaid said. “This is a perfect example of a young dog that just needed some care and we’d like to encourage all of you to just be aware of this type of situation in our community and know when these dogs come to the K-9 Adoption Center that they do receive extra care and it was very much needed with Tiny.”
Tiny won’t be available for adoption until she is healthy enough to undergo her spay surgery, so stay tuned to the K-9 Adoption Center’s Facebook page for when she’s fully ready for her debut.
