ZANESVILLE, OH – The Holidays are quickly approaching, and The Center is ready for a line up of activities for their Patrons.

The Center is getting ready for their annual Bags of Love, which are bags of items given out to the homebound meal program recipients.

Kate Paul, the Executive Director of the Center, says they’ve been getting calls about donating items as well as packing the bags to let those who are homebound know they’ve got friends at the Center.

There will also be a chance to learn what the Center can provide depending on your needs at their congregate site in Dresden on November 16th.

“A lot of times, we get people wanting to call in and say that they want the Meals on Wheels program, so we have a Home Visitor who goes out to the home and does Home Visits. Kind of talking about their family life, what’s going on in the world, and does the Meals on Wheels program fit their life?” Paul said. “Sometimes it does, sometimes it is a great fit and they like the extra support, the social interactions with our drivers. But then we also find out, wait, this isn’t really fit for me because I have to be home to get the meal.”

The Center Staff is also eagerly preparing for their annual Fraternal Order of Police Dinner, with tickets going on sale on December 2nd.

Paul says the tickets are only available at the Center and it is 4 tickets per person, they are also first come first serve.

“They will be offered until they run out, we have a capacity to give out 500 tickets, whether or not we get 500 tickets, but they go by fast.” Paul said. “As well as, it’s a limit of 4 per person that comes to the Center to pick up tickets, we are only offering tickets at the Center so you have to come to the Center to pick up any tickets that are available.”

Also the Center will be closed tomorrow, Nov. 3rd, due to the Election but there will still be staff at the Center during business hours if you have any questions.

They will also be closed on Thanksgiving and Black Friday, for more information you can reach out to the Center.
