A Need for Belling Ringers this Holiday Season

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Holiday season is quickly approaching and the Salvation Army is in need of volunteers as well as Bell Ringers.
The Bell Ringers are a paid position to help bring in funds for the Salvation Army to use throughout the rest of the year, like with their hot meal programs and ministry.
Seth Hall, the Envoy with the Salvation Army, says there is some pay involved but it’s really the connections you make while ringing the bell is what makes it truly worth it.
“The opportunities you have there, man, I have had some absolutely powerful God moments take place, made some wonderful relationships during that time frame. Hall said. “You will 100% make the most of it, in addition to that, this is our fundraiser for the year. I mean this is our big, it supports not only our ministries for Christmas but it also supports our shelter, our soup kitchen, our social services, and all of our other community ministries.”
Hall says businesses can get involved this year and sponsor a kettle or a ringer.
He says the cost to sponsor a kettle is $250 and that can be any of the locations throughout Zanesville as well as a day sponsor for a specific ringer if they chose.
“The dynamic of who you’re going to meet, who you’re going to talk to throughout the day. I have had tremendous relationships built and started just from ringing a bell and saying hi to people.” Hall said. “It does, I’ve talked to so many people who, when they consider Christmas they now always think of someone ringing the bell.”
