Keeping fitness a part of the holidays

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Tis the season to travel, visit with loved ones, and eat a lot of food.

During the Christmas and New Years holiday season it’s often heard that people eat too much and workout very little. This year people can stay on top of their physical fitness and diet at The Fieldhouse Family Sports and Wellness Center.

“We’re here Sunday and our hours are 12:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M,” Director of Operations Jim Fraunfelter said. “So you can get a good workout in before Santa comes Christmas Eve and then we’re open the day after Christmas at 7:00 A.M. Before you get started and if you did something not really nice as far as eating a lot over the holiday you can get started on your exercises early.”

People were visiting the Fieldhouse on December 22, 2017 to beat the new years fitness resolutions, but even those who cannot visit a fitness facility can at least monitor how much they eat.

“You want to eat in moderation and this is the hardest time, because you have the pie, cakes, cookies, everything and you just eat,” Fraunfelter said. “Push yourself away from the table for a little while and that will really benefit yourself for the beginning of the new year.”

The Fieldhouse has a Christmas special for family memberships with incentives until Christmas day. Following Christmas day the Christmas special membership will still be offered without the incentives until New Years Day.

On behalf of the Fieldhouse, Fraunfelter wished everyone a Merry Christmas and offered people to stop in to see their new additions taking place in 2018.
