First Baby of New Year Born at Genesis

ZANESVILLE, Ohio– Although it’s been a rather chilly start to New Year’s Day, one warm bundle of joy made his grand entrance into the world 16 days early.

Around 2:00 a.m on New Year’s Day, Hollie Banik and her family welcomed her second baby boy, Karter with open arms.

“I was here when my water broke and my actual due date was January 17th. I was having contractions and I came in and this one went a lot faster than the first one,” said Mother, Hollie Banik.

As her due date was set to be January 17th, Hollie says that this delivery went by very quickly,  and she was not anticipating her baby boy coming on new years day.

“See I got here a little bit before 11 and i had him at 2:03. Actually I wasn’t expecting it, I was not,” said Banik. 

Even though baby Karter being just a few hours old, mom said he’s been both alert and attentive all morning. He was named by his big brother Kaiden who said the new baby’s name has to start with a K just like his. Congratulations to the Banik family on your newest addition
