Sheridan girls drown Little Muskies, improve to 9-2

NEW CONCORD, Ohio — The Lady Generals of Sheridan stayed on the heels of Maysville in the MVL standings with a 64-46 win over John Glenn on Saturday afternoon.

Sheridan improved to 9-2 on the season, and 7-1 in MVL play with the win over the Lady Little Muskies. They could move into a tie for first place in the league with a Philo win over Maysville on Saturday night.

The Generals used a three-point barage throughout the game to drown the Little Muskies at The Fish Tank. Jena Wharton, who scored 11 points on the afternoon, lead Sheridan with three three-point makes. Liberty Justice added a pair of threes, as well as Kendyl Mick, who chipped in 12 points.

After holding a 17-10 lead through one quarter, Sheridan outscored John Glenn 20-9 in the second quarter to help build a 37-19 halftime lead. Emma Conrad, who lead the Lady Generals with 17 points, scored 5 points in that second period to help build the lead, and 7 points in the final eight minutes to help seal the game.

John Glenn was again lead by Madison Hunter who topped all scorers in the game with 19 points. Lauren Sherry was the only other Lady Muskie to score in double-figures, adding 10 points of her own. John Glenn now falls to 9-3 on the season, and 5-3 in league play.

Up next, Sheridan travels to Licking Valley to take on the Lady Panthers on Monday, while John Glenn travels to New Lexington.
