Rosecrans falls to Wellington for third straight loss

ZANESVILLE, Ohio — The Rosecrans Bishops fell to just 2-7 on the season after dropping their third straight game on Saturday night by a final of 69-40 to Wellington.

The Jaguars, who have now won five-in-a-row, jumped out to an 18-2 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.

Dallas Patrick paced Wellington in the first half, scoring 12 points, including a pair of three-pointers. The Jaguars hit six first-half three-pointers as a team, two of those coming from Air Force Academy commit Solomon Pierre-Louis, who chipped in 8 points in the first 16 minutes.

After falling behind by 16 early, the Bishops ended the first quarter on a mini 9-3 run to cut the Jaguars lead to 21-11. Wellington outscored Rosecrans 24-8 in the second quarter though to take a 45-19 lead into the locker rooms.

Jack Goggin lead Rosecrans with 10 points on the night. Matt Applegate added 9.

Coming up next, Rosecrans is off until Friday when they travel to Fairfield Christian Academy.
