Cardinal Health Closing in Zanesville

A company in Zanesville Thursday announced to its employees that it’s closing its doors.
Dublin based Cardinal Health says they continually work to optimize efficiency of their operations and, so, as a result they have made the difficult decision to close their Zanesville location.
The facility employs 70 people at a facility at 3540 East Pike and 5 more at a warehouse in the Airport Industrial Park.

A company spokesman says employees will remain on site at least until April and have the opportunity to relocate to their LaVergne, Tennessee location or to apply to open positions in their Obetz, Groveport and Wheeling, West Virginia facilities.
Those employees moving to the Tennessee location would receive relocation assistance; those employees working through April will be offered severance packages, including outplacement services.
Zanesville Muskingum County Port Authority Executive Director Matt Abbott issued the following statement about Thursday’s announcement: “We are disappointed to learn of the decision made by Cardinal Health to relocate its Zanesville operation to LaVergne, Tennessee. Cardinal Health and its subsidiaries have been located in Zanesville and Muskingum County for decades. We will work with our local OhioMeans Jobs team to support each and every employee that will be displaced.”
