Vote for the WHIZ-TV basketball player of the week

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Every Monday throughout the basketball season WHIZ-TV will give out a basketball player of the week honor to one area athlete, and you can vote for who you want to win!

The four candidates are listed below. To vote, visit the WHIZ Sports twitter page and click what player you think should win.

  • Jake McLoughlin (Tri-Valley) – The Scottie senior scored 14 points in Tri-Valley’s 64-51 win over John Glenn on Tuesday. The win kept Tri-Valley unbeaten in league play, and put them in sole possession of first place in the MVL.
  • Marty Sidwell (Morgan) – The senior Raider scored 21 points in Morgan’s 75-62 victory on the road against Crooksville on Tuesday night.
  • Carson Miller (Crooksville) – The Lady Ceramics senior scored 19 points in a 53-44 road win at West Muskingum. Miller currently leads the league in scoring, averaging 21 points per game.
  • Alivia Bash (Tri-Valley) – The senior for the Lady Dawgs scored 19 points in Tri-Valley’s 65-20 blowout of Philo. The Tri-Valley girls are 11-2 on the season and ranked 10th in the Division I Girl’s AP Poll.

The deadline to vote is 7:30 p.m. on Sunday.
