ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Big Brothers Big Sisters organization rolled out the announcement of their signature national fundraiser.

The 2018 Bowl for Kids’ Sake will take place in April, but the organization will host an informational kickoff event on Thursday, Feb. 22 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Barn. Teams will be able to sign up for the bowling event or collect more information about participating.

“We’re really really excited for this year because we have Dr. Seuss as a theme. We picked Dr. Seuss because not only are his books fun, the characters are fun for the team to dress up as but the messages in the books we feel really are similar to the messages we try to share with our littles everyday,” said Jenni Masterson, executive director of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Zanesville.

The Bowl for Kids’ Sake event is the largest fundraiser for the organization as a whole, with locations across the country participating. Each fundraising event supports the children, families and mentors locally.

“All of the money that’s raised helps us support a match and it takes a lot of time and money to recruit volunteers, to do the background screenings and also to monitor the match and support it throughout the year,” said Masterson. “We also try to plan good activities for school programs and for our community based bigs and littles to participate in.”
